How Feather Came to Be

The origin story of your favorite speech-to-text summarizer.

Howdy,

Ever ask yourself, “how the heck did Feather come into existence?”

Time for a story.

Feather’s co-founders, Josh & Dave.

It started with Ben's Bites.

Ben Tossell is an entrepreneur and the creator of Ben's Bites, a daily newsletter on all things AI.

Ben hosted a 1 week hackathon.

I (Josh) went to Dave with an idea for the hackathon that solves a problem that I have as a podcaster - writing the show notes.

We had previous work experience building successful AI products.

Dave does the engineering.

I do the product/design.

We launched Feather’s MVP, and it took off.

Users on Twitter asked us to turn our MVP into a full-fledged product.

So we did.

Now, folks use Feather everyday to summarize podcasts, TEDTalks, speeches, and more.

That’s how we came to be 😎

P.S. Remember that teaser about a new Feather feature from last week’s email?

Let’s just say, we’re looking for Notion users 👀

ACTION: if you use Notion, and you want to help us test a premium feature that hasn’t yet been released, then reply to this email.

Happy summarizing,
